like they are doing something else and not concentrating on the conversation,
or simply stoning and switching off on you.
even worse when i have to repeat what i had just said several times,
sounding like an old record on playback only each time getting louder
and also having to steer the conversation back on track,
if not it'd just be quiet on the other side and before you know it
conversation switches to some totally unrelated topic.
it really gets on my nerves
no matter it being a friend, boyfriend or family member.
imagine this..
scenario 1
me: *talking about topic A*
other person: *silence* *doing whatever it is in the background*
*few more moments of silent with continued noise in background*
other person: *starts talking about topic (%&@*)$&)@$^(&$ which has totally NO link to topic A*
me: *has to repeat topic A if not other person would have totally forgotten*
or if not..
scenario 2
me: *talking about topic A*
other person: *silence* *doing whatever it is in the background*
*few more moments of silent with continued noise in background*
other person: *asks why i am so quiet*
me: *explain that i asked a question and am waiting for an answer*
other person: *asks what was the question*
me: *repeats the question*
other person: *asks what was the topic we were originally talking about*
me: *refreshes the other person's memory*
other person: *asks what is the question again*
me: *seriously wants to sock the other person in the head*
how can you not want to strangle the other person??!!
it seriously irritates the shit out of me
and it happens all the time!!
