for the first time in my life,
i felt like the world was going to end,
right there as me and joyce sat at thompson's prata house.

the air was pretty still the whole time we were there
when suddenly these really big gusts of wind appear from nowhere
along the whole street leaves and twigs are being blown from trees like crazy,
the wind made howling sounds as a banner nearby dropped
and the menu on our table flew right into my face,
miss my eyes luckily and hitting me between the eyes instead.
i thought a flash flood or a hail storm may just occur at any sec
i didn't know whether to laugh because it felt so much like i were in a movie scene or be scared for the impending disaster.

the rain started to come down heavily,
so heavy that it sounded like stones hitting on cars.
everyone who was sitting outside either upped-paid-and left or moved inside,
we all didn't know what to expect.

on our way riding back to joyce's place,
you could see leaves and twigs everywhere on the ground,
more than you'd usually see during after a normal rainstorm.
a whole tree even fell over on the opposite side of the road after the junction in front of R.I.
at joyce's car park a bike that was on its main-stand was blown over and had fallen onto the ground

    thinking back,
    it was pretty scary.
the only time i've seen something like that was in the philippines 3 years ago
when this really really big storm hit the country which caused trees to be torn from the ground, people's houses to collapse and cities losing its electricity/power supplies.

    it does make you reconsider,
is singapore really as safe as we've always thought?
